Criteria

Eureka projects

  • are application oriented co-operations in research and development. Their aim is a new technology for innovative products, processes and/or services.
  • are bottom-up, with the topic, content, structure and project period based on the ideas and interests of the project partners. There are no call for individual Eureka projects. Applications may be forwarded by the main project partner to its national Eureka office.
  • are co-operations of independent partners representing at least two Eureka members states (specific project types require five members to be represented).
  • are not centrally funded. Project partners finance their project work by their own means and may apply with national or regional funding programmes.

The projects show a high participation of industrial partners, especially small and medium size companies.
